Sharing beautiful pictures of our trips is a happy high! But the more satisfying purpose of this blog is to get you guys to live these pictures!😊 So as promised, here are exp details & saving hacks of our recent Switzerland trip! For 11 days 2 ppl trip we invested around ₹3.2 lakh (~$4600) & NO IT WAS NOT BUDGET TRAVEL!🀯 Just smart travel!πŸ™ƒ
1. Flight tickets - ₹72k ($1045). This was our major saving! We book tickets well in advance (3-4 months) and keep a lookout for offers! In this case @makemytrip and credit card cashbacks (we own all the good ones). You can get even cheaper tickets if u r ok with longer halts (wife goes crazy) Also our 1st experience with @turkishairlines ! Two thumbs upπŸ‘πŸ‘
2. Visa - ₹15k ($218) we applied on our own and avoided agent fees. It's really simple & convenient! We got a 1 year visa! (Cue for 3rd Europe trip πŸ˜‰) 3. Stay - depends on trip agenda. We wanted to hike, so most of our stays were in countryside @airbnb villas 😍 It cost us ~₹90k ($1300). We stayed in scenic individual occupancy villas😍 You can get cheaper options. P.S - Check out wife's dance video at one of the beautiful properties 😍

We availed many offers for stay as well!
4. Food & internal travel - ₹40k ($580) for food. Swiss has great supermarkets where u can pick up packed food for hikes. Else there r amazing cafes & restaurants all over! Internal travel & shopping was our balance exp! Check out Swiss travel pass & half fare cards for smooth & affordable commute in Swiss! (Should we write a separate post for this?) Other places you can save πŸ’° is water, tap water is the norm in Europe, u can carry it or go for 🍺 (cheaper than water😜) So the mantra is plan early & book early ☺️
Hope to soon see pictures of all you guys in Switzerland!☺️
