Do RIO in one Day.

Rio in ONE DAY - the essential tour.

1. Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain) - Hike the first half to Morro da Urca and use the cable car to get to Pão de Açúcar.

2. Grab a cab to Corcovado - and save time by using one of the minivans that takes you up and down the hill.

3. Have lunch at the restaurant on Corcovado. Food is OK - and the views from the terrasse are amazing.

3. Grab a cab to Leblon - and from there walk on the beach... Leblon --> Ipanema --> Copacabana, It is a long walk if you want to make it all the way to the end of Copacabana at Praça do Lido... but it is worth doing it. Stop on the beach to rest... swim... have a caipirinha.

4. Grab a cab to Praça Floriano downtown... walk around and see the area - find a nice restaurant to have dinner and another caipirinha.

You can also use public transportation instead of grabbing a cab. I did it at #4... It is up to you - but in most cases using a taxi saves time.

I did it in a day - exactly this route... and you can see attached some of the pictures I took.
